How to remove the earwax from the ears

Earwax is a natural substance that helps protect the ear and the ear canal; yet, sometimes it settles and causes unpleasant problems or sensations. It is possible to remove it; you just have to be careful not to damage any sensitive tissue during the operation. This article tells you how to remove earwax safely and effectively, informing you about the methods to avoid because they are dangerous and not recommended.

Before starting

1) Make sure you do not have ear infections before starting cleaning.
If there is a problem of this type, the removal of ear wax could cause perforation of the eardrum (ironically, the earwax protects from infections). Do not perform any of the methods described here, especially irrigations, if:
You have had problems with irrigations in the past;
You have suffered from drilling the eardrum in the past;
You have mucus loss from the ear.

2) If you have any doubts, contact a doctor.
Removing the earwax from the ear canal may seem like a risk-free procedure, but the possibility of complications is real if you do not know exactly what to do. If the ear hurts you, do not risk it: go to your doctor and consult it before attempting any DIY procedure.
